I am the guy in this gif and I wanted to share a few thoughts on this gif and the feedback it has inspired. Though I am glad to see that this has hit most of you square in the feels, I think it is important to keep in mind that for myself and most people in my position, our disabilities are among the least interesting things about us. I am just a normal guy, who is about finish his master’s degree and start a career doing something I love. Now don’t get me wrong, these shirts kick some serious ass, for 5 years I have been trying different methods that allow me to put on a button up shirt on with minimal effort, and these are by far the best I have had. I am happy that the folks at Balani worked with me when I brought them the idea for a magnetic shirt a few months ago, mad props to them. I see a lot of you mention that my disability makes you realize how much you take for granted, but keep in mind that I too take a lot for granted. I often take for granted that I was raised by people who taught me not to use the challenges brought on by my CP as an excuse not to try my best. I take for granted the fact that I am able to afford a life without serious financial struggles, and this has allowed me to seek an education that will propel me through a life that makes any disability completely inconsequential. Just keep in mind, the things that make us all similar dwarf the fleeting and superficial things that make us stand out.
